La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Extreme Fluid Review

With summer coming to an end for another year (thank goodness, not a minute too soon) I thought it was time to tell y'all about one of my favourite beauty/skincare finds of the 2013/2014 summer season, La Roche Posay's Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Extreme Fluid. This super lightweight sunscreen has been one of my summer favourites, as outlined in my Australian Summer Beauty Saviours.

The La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Extreme Fluid is a high SPF sunscreen. It is very thin and fluid-like texture, meaning that a little goes a long way and it doesn't take much product to cover the whole face. People have suggested that it has a matte finish, though I wouldn't tend to agree. It definitely isn't as shiny and noticeable as most facial SPF products though.

One of my favourite things about the La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Extreme Fluid is the fact that it is really lightweight. Seconds after applying, it feel like there's barely anything on the face. You can still feel it, yes, but it's not offensive, nor does it feel heavy. I will generally wear this when I'm heading out and about so, obviously, I wear it on make up days. I find that it works really nicely under foundation. Once primer, foundation and the rest of a face of make up is applied there's absolutely no way of knowing that it's underneath. It doesn't interfere with face make up at all!

The La Roche Posay Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Extreme Fluid have two active sun protecting ingredients, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, so it gives great broad spectrum protection. I feel like it's doing a good job of protecting my face (especially now it's many shades lighter than the rest of my body) and I'll continue to use it in winter.

If you're interested in picking up La Roche Posay's Anthelios XL SPF 50+ Extreme Fluid, head into a Priceline store now. It retails for $27.99 for a 50mL bottle.

What's your favourite facial SPF? Have you tried this one?

  1. I really want to try this out. I have oily skin, do you find it makes your makeup last any less?

  2. I think I need this sunscreen in my life! I work outdoors in the blazing sun for at least half the year and it's so hard to find a good, lightweight, non-bank breaking sunscreen but you may have just solved my problem. Thanks for the review!
